Ezio Valentini was hired by Larry and Preston Tisch, founders of Loews Hotels, to take part in four projects: The conversion of a Loews theater to the Summit Hotel, New York (now the Cosmopolitan), the development and opening of the Regency, the flagship of the chain, and the Americana Hotel in New York (now the Sheraton Center), and the Americana Hotel in Puerto Rico.
